Have you ever thought about how similar organizations like the American
Medical Association and the American Bar Association are to the guilds
of Medieval times and fantasy novels? They're essentially
the same.
Even though they're technically not government organizations, they are
governmental by default. A lawyer cannot practice his trade unless he is licensed
by the ABA, and the ABA has the power to revoke that license. Doctors
similarly can't practice without the AMA's permission.
I think these modern guilds will play an essential role in moving
America away from democracy toward dictatorship. Most are dominated by
liberals sympathetic to Obama and Pelosi. I bet we'll be reading
articles within the next few years of people losing their licenses to
practice their trade because they rejected liberal policies.
